What's the largest Realistic Minimus in metal cabinet?

11's are much bigger than 7's but 12's are little bit bigger than 11's and I think tweeter is the same but different mid driver.
• Measures 7" Wide x 10-1/2" Tall x 6-1/4" Deep; 8 lbs each.

The Minimus 12's, introduced in '84, were 1/16" higher and the same width as the 11's. I never noticed any difference in the sound. The original Minimus 7's always sounded better to me. The Minimus 77's came along in 1990 and fell between the size of the 7's and 11's. I recently acquired a pair and they sound pretty good! They don't have the bass of the others, but the tweeter is definitely better (to my old ears, that is.)

Here are the 12's without grills on top of Realistic STA-64 receiver. May be they are made for each other :scratch2:
I saw a single (maybe the other was there, not sure) one of these today without the grill; I didn't know what I was looking at.

At normal listening volume, they sounded fine and even have decent bass.
For small rooms, they may work pretty good and no cat can damage the speakers.

Agree, not difficult at all.
In fact, I was testing them with SX-880 and played a 25 hz tone and I heard rattles in few seconds.
Now they play fine in normal volume but anything louder, I can hear something vibrating/rattling like loose wire or rub.
I think voice coil has unglued or something separated inside but surrounds/dust caps look fine. :scratch2:

Check the adhesive for the woofer surrounds
Old thread, but I just encountered it. I recently got a pair of Minumus 11's for $12 but untested. Two reasons for buying them - they were cheap and I'd never heard of the 11's before. Soon as I tried them, there was woofer noise from one and I assumed a voice coil was cooked. Took out the driver for a closer look, felt no VC rub but while pushing the cone down, I saw it had separated from the surround. It looked like rubber but might actually have been foam. In any case, the glue let go on a section so I replaced both surrounds with foam ones. Tried fitting several surrounds at a speaker repair shop but there was only one that would work. They attached to the cone's upper surface instead of the underside as the originals had done. Fully functioning now but the system does not produce much bass.

The eleven's were available as part of the "System Eleven" system. The STA-111 receiver, a LAB-290 turntable and the Minimus 11 speakers. The STA-111 was the most powerful Realistic receiver that had an EQ for the Minimus speakers.
On a normal receiver, the 11's sound their best backed up against a wall to reinforce their bass. Also some Poly-fill or fiberglass in the cabs would be nice.
I'm suprised no one has tried a tweeter swap on these. There's certainly room for it. Just for grins, I may just try some Optimus 5B cone tweeters in there.

I found the problem on my pair.
They were working fine but started rattling when I played bass tones.
Surrounds were fine.
I took the woofer out and saw the problem.
Voice coil cylinder has come unglued from the spider.
I glued it back and they are fine now.
One woofer still rattles on high volume but not bad.
