So many posts are compromised in their clarity because the member was so eager to get the damned thing 'on the air' he/she overlooked, or forgot, to give it a final once-over, and catch spelling and/or grammatical errors.
Come on people, if you want accurate feedback on your questions or dilemmas, spend a couple of minutes reading them over. You would be amazed how much better it will read with a little tweaking. :D

I have a spelling checker,
It came with my PC:,
It plainly marks fore my revue
Mistakes I cannot sea.
I've run this poem threw it,
I'm sure your please too no,
Its letter perfect in it's weigh,
My checker tolled me sew.
 
I usually write my posts in the middle of the night, while the rest of you US people are active, so they sometimes come out completely garbled.
Then I get busy editing :S

Seriously, complaining about one's grammar and spelling is YouTube snarkiness. Some members may not be native English writers.
 
I filter my posts through a nice single malt scotch.

I'm not sure if it helps my spelling and punctuation, but at least I no longer give a ****.

Then there are the natives of English-speaking countries (e.g. Americans) that fail the "English as a first language" metric... those may be the bigger offenders.

However, as mentioned, it's part of the landscape on forums, and there's no nuns with rulers standing by here on AK to beat your knuckles bloody for writing poorly - though I want to point out that many members would probably like to see pictures of one or more of the mods dressed that way (not personally, just betting that's the case).

You axed for it...LOL

I know I am guilty..not because of an inablity to form proper sentences in the kings english but I tend to transpose letters quite a bit. The becomes "teh", etc.

We'll try harder. Does punctuation count? :D
 
I have to admit to be a party to his claimed offenses. If you read just about any of my post you will see it has been edited, sometimes many of times, and even the final version still looks like an uneducated fool posted it!
