Luxman LV-109 Recap

Just got in a Clean and Working LV-109..

Putting a Cap list together and will be using the following:

Big Cans: (4) 10000uf / 63v BC VISHAY
Main: ELNA Silmic II
BP: Nichicon ES

I see there are some ELNA Cerafine 100v 2.2uf..need to check.

Will be posting more pics.

Parts order on the Big Can and PS Can Ordered. Putting together the rest.

Power Supply Board:

PS Cans: 1000uf / 100v BC VISHAY
Cap: 2200uf / 25v BC VISHAY
Caps: ELNA Silmic II
Diodes: 1N4003 Vishay

Also going to replace the 1N4003 Diodes with "Vishay".

Thinking over what Caps I am going to use with LV-109.

Going to use ELNA Silmic II for the recap. I was thing about the Panasonic FC
but I am looking for Sonics.

Digital/Analog Converter Board

Notice the "ELNA Cerafine" Red/Gold Caps 100v 2.2uf

I do not see any Replacements.

So....Leave then in or Use something else?:scratch2:

Over at Amp8 he left the cerafines in the dac board, changed them on the flat amp.

Thanks...Yes I do see this.

I Emailed Parts Connexion to see if they can get the caps. I checked and ELNA still listed 100v 2.2uf Cerafine.

Digital/Analog Converter Board:

I see there are (4) JRC5532DD Op Amp.

Would like to replace maybe with another Op Amp.

OK...What would you use?

Maybe:
OPA2134PAG4
LM4562NA

2nd ?....The Orange Cap...If this was a Pioneer that cap would use Nichicon KL (Low Leakage).

Can this be the same type?

Got a Email back from Parts Connexion...ELNA RBD (Bi-Polar) is Close to the Cerafine. They do have the 100v 2.2uf

Still waiting for the BC VISHAY 1000uf 100v Caps. These are coming from Turkey. I also contact Vishay to make sure these are "Real" from the Fleebay seller..:yes:

Since I need to order some parts from Mouser..I am going to get Nichicon GY or Cornell Dubilier 380LX in the mean time.

OK...What about these ELNA CERB caps. Seem to me thsee are "Low Leakage".

Power Board is complete.

All back togething and going to Run all night.

I would use a stacked film (Panasonic or Wima ) rather than an electrolytic. Note that if the circuit has a constant DC voltage, bipolar electrolytics (e.g. Nichicon ES) will fail under that condition.

The Input PC Board is the Tuner, CD, Line, ect..connection inputs.

Looking over some other Threads...Electrolytics were used.

If the Elna Cerb is a low leakage cap wouldn't you replace it with low leakage?

Is the Silmic a low leakage or just a good sounding cap?

Remember MTF did two SX units and used standard caps, you know the P-FM/FC or N-HE/PW and then did another using the KL where a low leakage cap was specified and he noticed a difference in the noise level of the units. He now puts the KLs on his recap lists when Pioneer specifies a Low Leakage cap.
