HELP-Local Estate Sale-

gkwolfman

USAF 1973-1980
I posted pictures of what I bought at the end of this thread. I am editing this post with the items of the pictures.

It advertises stereo speakers and receivers, and these were the photos they showed. This is the estate sellers for the people doing this.

Are B&W speakers any good? Is there any gems in the photos?
If there is something worth checking out, besides what I have in my signature below, how much is/are they worth here?

HELP Me out.....what looks good and for how much....

I think I spy Klipsh Heresy speakers - no experience with them personally. There's some good looking speakers all around in there.

The midcentury cabinet that has all the gear on it would be something I'd go after.
From what I see in the photos, you probably should bring a few big bills with you. Too bad you can't make out the prices in the photos. That might give you a starting point.

Looks like you have a lot of homework to do. Sorry I'm not much more help.

arent the ones Dahlquist? not positive as I've never owned a pair but I know several people on AK do and can confirm.

The ones I would check out would be the Dahlquist DQ-10s (big square low ones 3 pics down), and the 2 sets of B&Ws. Out of the B&Ws I think the model in the small single pic (5th row on the right) might be first series 801s - read great things about them. All of these require big SS power - but it seems like you have that covered with your Sansui. Not seeing any amps in the pics that are of the same level as the speakers. Make sure all the drivers work - if they need new foam it can be a good bargaining point to get a great price as its an easy fix.

The speakers probably all need re-foaming and the gear needs caps. If you're not equipped to do this yourself you're looking at a hefty repair bill. The OHM speakers are OHM I- I think. The big black ones are DQ-10's.

B&W are good, don't know the model but the bullet tweeters add value. The Flame Linear is valuable as well. If prices are 50% of epirate, buy them out and start Flippering. Keep what is left and pocket some coin.

I like the response, just offer for all, but, if I wasnt in the middle of a move, I would do that one.

I would bet the squares are the dq-10, but, too big(real estate wise)for my needs.

I am curious on the meter looking amps. Also, the B & W's. But, another set of speakers are not for me, unless I trade out with what I have already and would have to be worth it. Same goes for the Ohm speaker/speakers.

Well, it goes like this, anytime I see audio gear, I get antsy. Whether I need it or not, I get this feeling that I need to conquer. In this part of Texas where I am soon to leave, there is not a big audio gear following that I know of. Some stuff sells pretty cheap when there is a sale. A friend of mine got some JBL Jubal's for 50.00 with good glass tops. Made me really jealous. I got a Sansui AU 719 for 20.00 though.

Well, I guess, if someone is close to Midland Texas and wants to go, here is the link.....

I will go the first day and relay what I find that night.

The piece with the big meters has some pretty serious fins/heat sinks on it. Receiver of some sort? Also, what is the speaker in the photo with the telescope? If it was a little closer, I might be tempted to check it out.

I don't know what the price would be for the lot, I would grab all speakers that were in the pictures. The B&W's and DQ10's are well worth looking into.

Wow. So much good stuff!

No doubt the estate seller has looked up the value of everything already.. I wouldn't expect any deals but hey, if you can make a few.. you've done well, there's a ton of good gear in those photos!

If it were closer to Dallas, I'd be there as number one in line. There are some great pieces that you could flip in a heartbeat or just keep for yourself!

Phase Linear amp and one table looks to be a JVC QL-5 or similar quality turntable,
Bring a wad but I would see if they would take 500 for all then sort it out at home.
