I'm buying tickets for the Pechanga casino show Friday March 8.
Anyone with recent reviews I'd be interested in hearing any thoughts.

LOS ANGELES, California – December 10, 2012 —Legendary progressive rock band, Yes, today announced its upcoming North American tour, kicking off March 2013 in West Wendover, NV and wrapping up May 2013 in Detroit, MI. On this tour, fans can look forward to a totally new and unique Yes experience; the band, for the first time in its storied history, will perform three of its most popular albums in their entireties, The Yes Album, Close to the Edge, and Going for the One. Due to performance time limits in several venues, Yes will perform two albums, The Yes Album and Close to the Edge, in their entireties.

Performing three of rock’s most renowned albums will see Yes members, Chris Squire, Steve Howe, Alan White, Geoff Downes, and Jon Davison, playing Yes staples that have dramatically influenced rock music over the last four decades. Fans will enjoy long time favorites, including "Yours is No Disgrace," "I’ve Seen All Good People," "Starship Trooper," "Close to the Edge," "And You And I," "Going for the One," "Wondrous Stories," "Awaken," and more, in a completely unique format. Moreover, Yes will perform all tracks in the order they appear on their corresponding studio albums.

"These albums we all easily agreed on—they are complete works in themselves. And several of the songs have rarely been performed live," says Yes guitarist, Steve Howe. "I believe the one song we’ve never performed in concert is ‘A Venture’ from The Yes Album," states Yes co-founder and bassist, Chris Squire. Yes drummer, Alan White goes on to say, "This is a great opportunity to show the growth of Yes throughout different eras, and to once again enjoy the great memories of those times, as well as create brand new ones. We’re looking forward to performing these albums. It’s going to be fun for us, and we think our fans will love it as well."

Can't get excited to go without Jon Anderson on board. That's just me though. Have a great time. :thmbsp:

yeh...but I'll take what I can get at this point in my life.
These old groups aren't going to be around much longer so I'm game to see at least 80% of the group.
 
i saw the in jun...front row center...great show...song selection not so much...singer was good, then got old...howe is an absolute monster!
 
I love YES, and I actually like the 2011 album they put out, Fly From Here, a lot (that album had a different "Jon Anderson imitator" singer). I have even thought that some of the video clips I have seen of the current lineup we're good.

But honestly, not sure I would be that psyched to see this lineup perform those albums in that way. That said, they are playing at a Casino not all that far from here; I may check it out.

I last saw Yes in 1984, so it's been a while ;)

(just que'd up America and Your's in no disgrace on my ipod here at work.)

I've never got the chance to see these guys.
And I know I'm taking a bit of a chance being that Jon Anderson, the main Voice of the band is missing.
But the remaining members are very accomplished seasoned top shelf guys that i'm excited to hear perform.
 
I'm a big Yes fan as well. What happened to Benoit David? He was the lead singer on the FLY FROM HERE lp. I thought he was really good.

Anderson's newer CD, Survival and other stories, proves that his singing career (at least at concert volumes) is over. His voice is pretty hacked out, raspy. I doubt he could survive a couple of songs.....

While I personally think Glass Hammer sucks, the lead singer is OK. I guess we will see how the reviews shake out.

Chris Squire's backing vocals are a HUGE part of Yes's sound...not to mention his amazing bass playing...and Howe's guitar playing! Would be worth it just to see them. And both Downes and White are great musicians as well.
 
Benoit David's current band, Mystery, has a new record out, "The World Is A Game". His voice sure sounds fine on it! But Mystery is more like Rush than Yes, IMO.

I also like the recent Glass Hammer record.

I have seen them at various times throughout their career, from the 70's to the 21st century. I say go and enjoy yourself. Just to see Steve Howe play these tunes with the rest of the guys is something you won't regret. And of course it'll be better than you can imagine even without Jon. Going For The One is such a great album (Last Great Yes Album?) and the song Awakening is really great. Treat yourself...
 
I've seen them more times than I can remember. All with Jon Anderson. Maybe I'm being snobbish, I'm willing to admit that, but I feel the group is incomplete without him. As far as his voice is concerned, I saw him solo in 2011 and he tore the place up. I certainly understand the idea of seeing them before they're gone though.
 
The way I look at it is this. In 1984, Yes was on the 90125 tour, and a few peeps didn't go to the show because that lineup didn't include Steve Howe (who was in Asia at the time). I went, and I can tell you that it was absolutely phenomenal. As I sit here, 30 years later, I'm sure glad I didn't decide not to go because Steve Howe wasn't there.

Just sayin. I also had people suggest that it was a waste of time to see the Rolling Stones in 1989 on the Steel Wheels tour, since they were "washed up". Ditto AC/DC on The Razor's Edge tour. Both concerts were fabulous.

Bottom line, if you've an incline to go, and have the time and money, I'd do it.

I think Benoit David was having voice troubles too . His last album with Mystery is excellant .
