A local Craigslist find that I just picked up yesterday. A bit of a mystery but it's either the C satellite and O subwoofer. Or possibly the C2 satellite and O2 subwoofer. Not really sure.

Very solid and heavy build on the cabinets, though it has a bit of a science experiment look to it. (Home built? Kit?) Mirror image transmission line subwoofers. Crossovers are mounted outboard. Hook up wiring was done per the previous owner's instructions, though I'll have to scrutinize the crossovers to see why it is the way it is. All I can say is..... it works.

All woofers need refoaming, but are solid enough right now to at least audition these beasts. Preliminary listening reveals a very nice open sound. And there's nothing quite like transmission line bass.

This will make my third entry into the IMF/Fried world, and these now reside with my TLS80 and Supercompact II speakers.

Great pick-up.

I can't wait to hear what you think about these over the IMF TLS 80's - should be an interesting comparison for sure. They definitely look interesting!

On a side note - if you need any assistance restoring the Compact II's you've got or the TLS 80's, let me know. I recently restored my Super Compacts to 100% - they made a large improvement.

Keep us posted on the progress with these. :)

Great Scroe OHigh!!! For the money you got these for, I believe you really did Scroe!!! May not win in the "most attractive speakers" category, but I have a feeling they may rank as some of the best!!! :music:

Lol.... hah.... yeah, they are actually plug ugly. They -sound- attractive though. :thmbsp:

Funny...I had never heard of FRIED before, so when I read your thread title, I thought you had literally "fried" (blown) a sub plus sats. Easy to do with mains, but with sats/sub???...:scratch2: I'm sure others thought the same, but not willing to ask or admit...Learned something new today!

gotta love Irving Fried! what he is describing is just an aperiodic alignment. the small holes with damping behind them just release cabinet pressure at resonance, extending f3 at the price of a third order (faster) roll-off.

his speakers were mostly truly great but i always thought he was the master obfuscation. :D

Well, ya' gotta' understand I'm one of those "get to the point" guys. I want the facts in the most precise and concise form possible. Anything else seems like needless fluff that needs to be waded through.

However I guess there is some entertainment value to be had. The guy certainly had a unique way of describing things and hawking his product. Same could be said for Paul Klipsch. And many others I'm sure.

I'm liking the sound of these, BTW. There's something good there to be sure.:yes:

That's to say the least, about how he markets product. I've read his IMF Newsletters from when he was still a part of the original IMF company back in the 70's, he has an odd, and almost condescending way of talking about the product. To be honest, I think he's a very conceited, but highly intelligent and creative man.
