DLK MODEL 4 Speakers pics throughout thread 3 pairs all different

picture.php

Hi I'm new here and sometime ago I bought another pair of one of my long sought after speakers, sense at least 1987 I have been looking for a second all original pair of dlk 4 speakers.

They have the ceramic magnets on the Heppener 12" woofers and do not need to be re-foamed I listen to them for quite awhile but the pots were very noisy/ dirty had to give them a very good cleaning.Anybody here in AudioKarma have these dlk 4's with the Heppener 12' in them or listened to them ? And how do they sound compared to the CTS 12" Alnico's woofers they put in most of there older model 4's? Thanks for any an all reply's.

Well got a call from repair shop today and just found out one of the magnets on a tweeter fell off and was stuck onto one of the woofers magnets, these are on my old all original pair I got from my dad. The tweeter is shot unrepairable. Hope I can find an original as a replacement .Going to need at least a spare pair of tweeters for back up. :scratch2:

Not too sure about your speakers, but I did a Google search and see that they are pretty decent.

Due to age, you probably will not find the same tweeters to replace the damaged ones, but you should find speakers that are close in dimensions and specs.

Good luck with them, hope to see pics of them soon . . .:yes:

Cheers

Hi anybody know how these heppener woofers compare to the CTS woofers are the CTS any good ? And how do you read the manufacturer date code of on the Heppener woofers? :scratch2:

you need to get them loaded in this sequence. Phone -> computer -> image hosting site like imgur or photobucket -> copy and paste the img link on to the comment section.

if you phone have an app that can upload to a image hosting site, that will speed up the process.

Upload your pic to your library. Once uploaded, click on the pick and scroll down. Copy of IMG code and paste it on your post. Preview and you will see it there.

My DLK MODEL 4 Speakers pic

Hi I wanted to post a pic of one of my pairs of dlk 4's,its an old pic from when I got them but there in very good shape just a little sun bleached from grills left on as is expected with 35yr old speakers, and the marble tops were broken so I need to get them made up an sized correctly for the cavity. I haven't had much time to restore the cabinets yet but they are in very nice shape with no chips or scratches on them.Anyone no the best way to remove the dark shadow line area on the fronts from the sun fading? The guy I got these from had them re foamed about 5 years prior to me buying them and there still in good condition. An they still sound fantastic!!!:music::music:

That's the first pair of model 4s I've seen. They look really nice. I've always heard good things about them.

Those look like serious speakers, I'm betting Howards would take care of the color difference on the veneer.
