Pioneer SX-3000 – what is this?

Just found this item on German e-bay:

Never saw an SX-3000 before, but it looks almost like an SX-626: Same features, same knobs, same buttons (even their arrangement is the same!). So I wonder what is the difference between the SX-626 and the SX-3000. Does anyone know something about the SX-3000?

Actually looking for one of these....

There was a post on this receiver last week here on AK. Came here as a SX 626. My SX 6000 and QX 8000 are similar in looks which made it to the states.

I have a SX-3000 listening to it right now. It is from what I can tell a European only model almost always sold through the Military PX system (look for the <EP> mark on the serial number plate that denotes an item sold through the US Military stores) It is approx 27 watts. Though some reports say only 20 watts. I'm getting a set of power meters first of the week and I give mine a test.

Yes everything about the control layout is like the 626 except the word selector is below the knob instead of above it. PioneerHPMLuver also has one that Merrylander just restored for him he's quite happy about it.

There is also a SX-3000 or VSX-3000 that appears in the 1970-1985 Specification Bible But that one is VERY VERY different having a large center mounted tuning dial or volume control This makes researching this model difficult as everything comes up for that newer 1984ish model.

The one we are looking/listening to is a pre 1974 model as that is when my brother inlaw bought the one I have in Germany while in the army.

Great soild good sounding reciever. Value ???? About the same as a 626 if that tells you anything. IMHO

I love my SX-3000! Is it possible it sounds as good as my sx-980? Yup!

I just got a wild hair up my ass and tried reveresing the set up I had. Instead of using the preamp of the SX-980, split into my SX-3000 and the SX-980, I am using the SX-300 preamp, split into the two receivers. Wow! I find it hard to believe the SX-3000's preamp sounds this good. Just plan warmer sound with deep deep bass! Will keep it this way for a while I guess...
I have posted similar pic's in other threads. SX-3000 drives the pair of HPM 40's and 60's. The SX-980 drives the 2nd pair of HPM-60's and the pair of HPM-100's...Sweet!

I've a SX-3000 and the tuner section doesn't look same like SX-626.

The tuner of my SX-3000 doesn't work and I don't know why... I don't found any information (schematics or something else) about the 3000er. Anyone can help?

I'm back to say that I am still in love with my SX-3000...though all the lamps that Merrylander replaced are burned out again...still have never seen another one.
Now I'm looking at a SX-6000 to compliment it...
