What price is art? I'm not saying that is "art" that I would buy but someone might.

Now if those meters and gauges actually measured something interesting like watts, Sound Pressure Level or dbs that would be cool but I think they are just decoration.
 
They look cool no doubt. But for that kind of cabbage....Goodwood and Pyle drivers are no where in the equation!

My thoughts exactly... why use such crappy drivers if you put so much time and effort into the cabinets???

I have a set of Grenadier here with great tweets and RS woofs (must be replaced).

The marble is good.

They sound great but look like crap.

Maybe I should rub some steampunk on them.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's, "antiquing" furniture was all the rage. People would take decent furniture and apply ugly avacado green paint and streak it with gold paint and announce it "improved".

Now, in the next century, we have "steampunk". In a manner of speaking.....same ****, different day. Why isn't this trendy crap over with already?
 
The photo makes me think of those late-night television advertisements for the "Dazzler" -- just snap a bunch of shiny buttons and junk onto some clothing and call it art or fashion.
 
I don't care for steam punk items that are purely decorative. I prefer when people find a way to use items from that era in a useful way. Maybe had they run the copper piping with antifreeze and used it to help cool the speaker motors?!? Then they could have some old temp gauges attached. That would've been cool!
