Old gear, old house

Jailtime

Standin' on a corner
Here's my rig all set up in my new (1905) house. Room is 12 x 20 with 9' ceilings. The Rotel RQ-970BX phono stage and Clearaudio Aurum Classic cartridge are new to the system. The rest is my Soundcraftsmen MA5002/SP4002, rebuilt by yours truly. Music Hall DAC 25.2 with an Amperex 6DJ8 provides the digital tunes. Vinyl spins on a stock Empire 398 with the Clearaudio cart.

The Fisher 500C is purely decorative right now, it's completely original.

Nice setup!
'Reminds me of my brother's houses (both farmhouses with the high ceilings and the clean, simple woodwork and "old-fashioned-ness").

No concerns with the sub magnet and the laptop sitting on top of it?

It's a little know fact that older houses require vintage gear to sound good. Nice equipment rack but it looks a bit difficult to change the shelf height, though I believe they could be leveled to 0.001"/ft or better.

Old house with new floors and stair rails. Nice setup.

You're right on the stair rails, but I think the floors are original to the house. The pictures don't show the gaps and wear. Still in pretty nice shape though.

Whiskey and Tool, sound like a fun evening!

That's a pretty rare disc to be identified that readily. Nice eye. :D

Oh yeah, it's not fun to change the shelf height, takes forever. That's why I set it and forget it.
