Fixed a friends Technics SL-23

A friend at work (actually one of our senior managers) knew I worked on turntables. He had a Technics SL-23 that he had packed in the original box...20 years ago !

Well, it would not hold speed, 45 would not work, etc. I took it home and gave it the treatment. Cleaned the speed pots and speed selector..lubed, checked the microswitch, the main board, autoreturn...and cleaned his Stanton 681EEE...which was horribly encrusted.

All works perfectly and even the stylus cleaned up...holds speed in both 33 and 45...He'll be thrilled Monday...pictures with the skirts off...LOL

Good job! Those are pretty decent basic tables and just keep chugging along with a bit of basic service. My Dad had one and it was a reliable deck.
 
You should now clean that brown spot off your nose. :yes:
I only say that in jest. Good job fixing the turntable. :thmbsp:
