That gear looks to be serious. It has balanced inputs and outputs from glancing at the pics. The build quality seems to be on par with all the really high end brands. I'd say this might be well worth the entry fee! Even if the system runs a max of 60 ohm speakers, you could design some 60 ohm speakers using several 16 ohm speakers in series. Maybe build some sort of cool arrays.

Hi-end "whole house" (multi-room) custom installer from the 60's and 70's. These same components were offered a year ago at almost twice the asking price on a-gon.
Supposedly nice stuff, but with enough quirks and limitations that as whole systems they were claimed to be "limited". However, the amps were supposed to be pretty powerful (200 WPC or more) so the offering could be decent at the asking price. They looked good. You might have to do any required refurbishment on your own.

Yeah, but four 16 ohm vintage JBL 10" drivers wired in series and them a high efficiency horn in parallel should put you close enough to the 60 ohms and you'd have tons of fun building those arrays!!!

I do too. And in fact, I based that statement on experience. When I was a kid, I dragged home all kinds of stuff; I had bold and grandiose plans for the crap I found. My dad was the one who first said that. I showed him some bike parts, and I was full of excitement and in my mind, I could already see the bike I would build around them. Pragmatist? Not I. At least, not then.
I still tend to fall for projects where I can see the end result clearly, without thinking too much about what it will take to get there.
