Realistic Lab 420

Saw a fairly good looking Realistic Lab 420 in a shop today. Comes with a new needle and an older Realistic cartridge (not sure of the number). Holds speed well, looks OK. Cover has scuffs, but no cracks.

He wants $85. Is it worth that much?

Make sure it holds a steady speed. Nice turntable if working properly.

If you need a good one, it's ok, not a score. I own one.
It was one of Realistic's more expensive ones back in the day.

If working properly, not bad, but not a super deal... the cart should be one of the re-badged Shures that Realistic used. If you can find out what stylus replacement was used would be helpful, since they range from $10 generic junk ones on ebay, to $100+ JICO styli...

It was a Shure cartridge (M44-7) with an aftermarket stylus. And the repeat function did not work correctly, so I passed. Thanks for the info!
