Technics SB-2745 Speakers

Well, I've only recently gotten into good quality audio, and I've had this set of speakers sitting in my childhood room since I was 4, a pair of Technics SB-2745 with a set of Technics CD, Phono,Tape player and amp from 1987. I've never really used them often until now.
Here's a picture from the web:

I tried it with the original set up, and I was pretty blown away. That is, until I hooked the speakers up to my Nakamichi TA-2A amp, it became clear how these speakers have stood the test of time. It sounds SO much better than the KEF speakers my dad bought with the Nakamichi amp. I do have one question though, this forum: http://audiokarma.net/forums/showthread.php?p=4274624
I mean, they don't sound bad to me at all, in fact they sound better and more balanced than some 300$+ headphones I have tried. Are people saying that they sound bad? Lol, kinda sounds like Head-fi.org (Hope I don't get banned saying that...)

I have two different sets of Technics vintage towers and found people around here don't give them the respect they are due.

They sound fantastic and they sound even better when I crank the volume knob on my recievers.

Seems Sometimes $800+ vintage speakers are not all they are cut out to be (like ALOT of people on this website seem to think).

Enjoy the speakers. They look very nice and I'd love to have a pair of those aswell.

judging by there looks and the fact that MOST (not all) Technics speakers tend to underwhelm the average AK listener I would say those are OK at best. and certainly would not be able to compete with a set of good KEF speakers. BUT the most important thing is How They Sound to You. if you like them then nothing else matters. so enjoy what you enjoy! happy listening.
welcome to AK!
BTW I have a old pair of Technics speakers that sound good, I enjoy them!
