EVG Stylus for Shure V15 Type II Made by JICO?

On the bay I see a replacement stylus for the Shure V15 Type II Elliptical (VN15E) listed from a seller in South Korea.
It is listed as a generic replacement by EVG under part number 8640ED. In the other thread it seems to be the consensus that the EVG for the Shure V15 Type III and the Type IV were made by JICO of Japan.
What do you think? Could this one also be a JICO?
It’s not that expensive so I may give it a try if it may be a JICO. I don’t want to waste my money on another generic Pfanstiehl type stylus. I already have a few of them for questionable records and to me the performance is so-so at best.

I already have JICO SAS for my Shure V15 Type III, IV, & Vx carts so I know how good the SAS is. I don’t want to spend the SAS money for the Type II at this time, but I may in the future. I already have a low hour original Shure VN15E and an original Ed Saunders stylus for it.
I will be using it on my Dual 1019 for general listening in the spare bedroom.

Just a follow up

I ordered the stylus from the guy in South Korea. I received it in about a week with no problems.
Right after that the stereoneedleslady on the bay started offering the same EVG stylus a little cheaper so I ordered another from her as a spare.
I received it yesterday and it looks exactly the same as the one for Korea.
In the stereoneedleslady ad her description stated that this was a JICO stylus so I think that answered my question.

My Dual 1019 is not hooked up at the moment so I have not tried them out but I’m sure it will be good from the reports here on other EVG stylus that folks have tried.

I also just received mine from stereoneedleslady to. Sounds very good on my Technics SL1300.

I had checked a couple of weeks ago on the web and really did not find a source, then the other day I noticed them at stereoneedleslady, which I had ordered other stylus from before.

That was my situation also. Since I read all the good reviews on the EV stylus that were made by JICO I snatched up some spares for my other carts. I could not find any US distributers for the V15 Type II so I took a shot with the vendor from Korea. Recently they showed up with the stereoneedleslady and since she was the vendor I bought all the other EV/JICO spares from I ordered one from her.
It was identical to the other one so I was pleased.
I’m glad to hear you are happy with yours. I’ll get to try mine out in a couple of weeks.

I have used them for my retipping experiments and as
such I don't have a problem with them but,I doubt that they are indeed originals,the barcode on the pack would indicate that they are just fakes.
That's just my opinion .
Like I said ,I bought few and didn't have problem cutting them :)

Fake what? They have never been described as original Shure factory replacement styli.

They are Jico styli though.

JICO makes some fine styli, I own several, but I'm sure they're capable of making junk as well.
 
I bought one of these to use instead of my MR stylus on questionable used LPs. It's a long drop-off in sound quality.
 
The discussion started about two sellers
I had "EVG" styli from at least one of them and I cannot definitely confirm if they are made by Jico but the packaging and label didn't look genuine.
I had original Evg in the past and there was normal barcode,
Whether on discussed here on beginning of the thread styli the barcode was 0000000.
 
Which one looks more like genuine?
I'm not saying any of these is or isn't.

Hi, I actually sell these- I cryo treat all of my styli but otherwise are just the same as I purchase from EVG. They are indeed Jico styli.
 
I'm hoping the OP (or anyone else) can help me. I can't seem to find that EVG stylus on stereoneedleslady's ebay store. Can you show me a link to what you bought? I need a replacement stylus for a Shure V15 Type 2 for a Dual 1019.

...my guess is that it could very well be, but it's made to a price point and is not the same as the Jico VN15E that is offered on Jico's website...

I own the following:

original Shure VN15E, VN7

Jico (purchased directly from their website)

EVG (from ebay)

Pfahnstiehl (from ebay)

The only stylus that comes close to the original in terms of build quality and sound reproduction is the Jico purchased directly from their website.
