This kinda counts- I've been listening (in stereo, not 5.1) the second installment of the Martin Scorcese blues series on DVD, "The Soul of a Man".
This is the Wim Wenders directed episode ( Mr. Wenders also directed Buena Vista Social Club). Features Skip James, Blind Willie Johnson and J. B. Lenoir. Very rare performances of J.B. Lenoir, a must-see for that alone. Also guest tracks by Nick Cave, Lou Reed, and others really makes this an enjoyable listen.
I also like Taj Mahal's "An Evening of Acoustic Music". Stunning!
And last week, picked up an odd, cherry-red, semi-transparent vinyl recording of Odetta at the San-Fran club the Tin Angel that I've yet to hear as my TT is currently disconnected. anticipation... but I know I'm going to love it!
