I really enjoy seeing the Tech HiFi catalogs (much cooler than any I collected back then), so I thought I'd share a couple of others.

First (moved from the Tech HiFi thread) is the cover and a page from the (AFAIK) one and only catalog from Gordon Miller Music in Baltimore. They sold musical instruments and such, but briefly in the late 1970's took a stab at hifi and also (discount) record sales. They were briefly very popular... but then, I guess, we all grew up (at least temporarily).

and then there was Warehouse Sound Co.

How exotic San Luis Obispo seemed to a college student in Baltimore in 1977!

Gotta love their ad copy. Interestingly, they sold some very good stuff and some fairly crappy stuff (sometimes in the same system).

I live in Santa Maria and San Luis Obispo hasn't changed much in 29 years. Cheap Thrills is still going strong and they have a large vinyl section.

Now that's some cool stuff! I'd forgotten that the employees 'signed' each of the system descriptions in the Warehouse Sound catalog...

I have been to San Luis Obispo, once (ca. 1990, when we lived in CA). I remember winetasting near Santa Barbara too (Santa Ynez Valley); some nice wines in that neck of the woods.
