I bet those could piss off the neighbors, they would be great for a big shop or something. I just like the way they are built, very cool.

I would've snagged them first, but I had a bit of work this morning. I thought about going yesterday, too. Glad someone got them who will appreciate them more than I would've. They were going to be covered back patio speakers for me.
I imagine they probably don't sound great when you have them right in front of you, but they sure would fill a large area with clear music. Mark has posted internal pictures of them already on Face Book, very well built.
I wonder if they have a pot for the horn.
My X-15-W + F-333-300 have pots and tuning the horns makes a world of difference. For a large house size room, they need to be trimmed back quite a bit.
That 106db efficiency is mind numbing.

Reminds me of a smaller version of an RCA ubangi horn.
What's the compression driver used? Is it a high quality metal diaphragm unit?

You could make those into very very cool main speakers. I love the styling and if you put something like the TAD 2001 compression driver in the horn you could reach up into the 20khz. Then add a good woofer like the Altec 515, they would sound really good.....not to say they don't sound good now. Then paint them with a nice red candy apple!

A year or so ago I saw the website of an outfit that was making reproductions of the LC9 and the big double 15 unbangi bassbins; I don't recall the outfit's name though.

A flea powered SET tube amp would be perfect for these speakers! With that kind of efficiency more than a couple of watts could cause hearing damage and complaints from the neighbors a block away...(lol)

Hard to believe my Model Eleven Fraziers are even heavier (238 lbs.). :scratch2:
Ah, an Altec compression driver, probably an 806. I've seen photos of other old Fraziers that used Altecs.
