loudsubz

Canuck eh!
I have 4 outputs to replace.

SK A771 B40
&
SK C1986 B10

What are some decent brands or equivelants I can replace them with?

Thanks Echo, but the current units in my amp are NOT the metal can type, which these 2 appear to be. Should I look into getting them and modifying the setup, or is there a straight drop in TO-220 type?

thanks.

Oops...well, you didn't say what they were. Post a pic if you can (TO-220's are really only used for output devices in amps that are rated for less than 20WPC.)

My appologies for not stating.

Im not sure the case was TO-220, but it was that style compared to the metal can type.

Here are 2 pics:

Wow...sure do like like TO-220's. If so, use the MJE15032 and MJE15033.
EchoWars, did you ever used them as power transistors (single pair) ?

They are for sure a nice replacement for the original transistors (parameter wise), but way too weak for a power amplifier ...
I think these were designed as high voltage driver transistors.

What about MJW21193/MJW21194 ?
These are TO-247 versions of the MJ´s and should fit the board/heatsink, since it looks like, as if the board originally was designed for TO-3P transistors, which have almost the same dimensions like TO-247.

Help me understand...why use subs when the originals are available at Parts Express, MCM, or just about anywhere???
Subs are a last resort, in anything that is not a power supply.
