here is my new project,got a set of rtr's model 4 e,the cabs need some work and 2 of the 12" woofers were busted 1 in each cab the bottom ones like someone kicked them,i have already ordered 4 new Dayton audio woofers from parts express cause i wanted them to match,also went ahead and ordered a set of new 3 way crossovers,i have never seen a speaker with 2 12" woofers 8 mid range and a horn in each cabinet.i posted a few pics i will add more as my project progresses.

Hey guy I just found your thread. I have a set of the same speakers. I bought them new around 1983. I think (if my fuzzy memory is correct) I paid around $750 for them. Yours are the only other set I have found on the internet. I've been using these in my living room everyday for 31 years. Maybe you can educate me on them a little. Nowhere on them does it show the Ohms (total load). The speakers on mine have a gold ring around the edge of them, I see yours don't. Did you replace all of them. Here are a couple bad pics of mine.Wow,the flash really shows the dust...sorry.

I saw a pair of these on CL in my area a few months back. They caught my eye because I own some rTr speakers as well.
 
You ordered a set of new 3-way crossovers? The bad part of that is that there's so many mid/high drivers in there that if you got 8-ohm crossovers and ended up with a 4-ohm load, or so, the crossover points are going to change because of the mismatch. You might want to pull out the drivers and measure their impedance with a DMM and make note of how they are wired internally i.e. series, parallel, a combo, etc. I've got a pair of RtR's at my buddy's house and all they used are single caps on the mid/high drivers (nothing on the piezo) and a single coil on the woofers. They are mainly a hodge podge of drivers in one cabinet. We also got rid of one pair of the original smaller Peerless tweeters and replaced them with the new versions (Pioneer made) but pulled those and replaced with Vifa soft some tweeters crossed over at 10kHz.
 
Hey DrumminDaddy, I saw a set of model E's in your area on CL. I'm in Pa. also. Oh, we got the same Bday too....wierd. What model RTR's do you have?
 
I can't remember if mine are model II E's or F's. They have dual 10" active woofers and a single 12" passive per cabinet then a mid/teeeter/super tweeter in front and a mid/tweeter on top. I havent listened to them in over a year I guess.

I just gave away a set of the 12M Magnums for free to a good friend of mine.. They were taking up to much room and I picked them up for next to nothing. He always gives me good gear to restore so it was a no brainer... RTR's are great sounding speakers!

I not sure if they are the same drivers, if so he sells on eBay... could be a match.. I can put you in contact if needed. Just PM me.

Nonetheless, cool project. :) Ill be watching the build.
