Technics SE-9060

I inherited this Technics Pro System last week. The Equalizer was not working. I am getting that fixed (power supply) for $220. Now I noticed the left channel has static coming from it. I tried changing all the wires, still there. I then took the speaker wires out of the main terminal (channel A) out back and tried the remote (channel B). Now it seems to work fine. Although the balance on the amp doesn't quite work properly. Is there anything I should do, or just leave as is?

Deoxit is your friend, use it on all pots and switch gear. Can potentially clear up all sorts of issues.

Well, for the most part it worked. I still need to rapidly move the volume control knob left and right to get the sound to come out of the left speaker. But once done, she works like a charm.

Did you clean the 20db muting switch good and the record switch on the pre amp this will cause this problem. You have to clean the pre amp about twice a year.
