...Promise you won't be jealous. Not everyone can get speakers of THIS quality. Enjoy, but don't think I'm trying to be all uppity just because I have one of the rare pair:

From the one-piece stamped steel frame to the white coated paper driver cone, massive 4 ounce magnet clamping the 3/4" genuine metallic wire voice coil, to the lovingly hand-soldered connections to the other divers in the un-insulated particle board "acoustic chamber" sporting the finest faux walnut vinyl. These units were so perfectly matched they didn't even require a crossover.

That's one of the Lenny Mattioli Specials from the '70s/80s. "Crazy TV Lenny" used to give away a pair of these (or a ten speed bike) with almost any purchase, from a pack of Juicyfruit to a pair of headphones. American of Madison used to have promotions every weekend, alternating between speakers, bikes, and other junk. Some of you may remember. I can joke about them now because they're all gone - Lenny, American TV, AND the speakers (which someone brought to me thinking I might use).

Image how much more they'd be worth had they spelled "Matrix" correctly. ;)

Why the magnet is sooooo small? Must be very efficient speaker, which is nice.
I am jealous but choose not to...

I`m not jealous, I have a just as rare pair of Fosters.

Correct placement is critical with those speakers, if I recall they sound best at the bottom of a trash can! :bs:
