My 1st amp build

it is not point to point; not scratch built; but not exactly a kit either. it is the decware zkit1. i bought the board and over 1/2 the parts on the BOM on BT.

since i have very limited woodworking skills i improvised a chassis from a wood "in box" tray and a small cookie sheet. next time i'll just buy one of those hammond chassis.

if you look closely there are lots of flaws but it does sound really good. super detailed. tubes right now: one 6N23P (voskhod "rocket") and two 6P15P-EV. all russky baby! will roll some others once i get used to the current sound.

one of my test voltages is off slightly; will revisit that after i run it for a while. here is the decware page: http://www.decware.com/newsite/SE84CDIY.htm

AK has been my inspiration to try something like this. thanks for all the advice and support:yes: now to finish my aleph mini build!

this AM i rolled in a 6N1P to replace the 6N23P in the driver slot. this is the tube that decware recommends. seems a bit cleaner sounding.

i also notice a very slight hum when there is no music playing -- have to put my ear right up to my speakers. i think i can fix this by re-working the wiring to braid them more and get the wires away from the pcb as much as possible. a project for later...
