G-9000 - G-8000, B/C2302, AU-9500, CA-3000, BA-5000, AU-X1, AU-717 for me.

AU-517 is best bang for buck!

If you had to choose one which one would it be and why?

There is no advantage to getting the G-33000 over the G-9000, IMO. You get plenty of power in the G-9000, and the same tuner and preamp, less complicated construction and less troublesome protection circuitry, and it takes up half the space. I am not a big fan of the 2 part units with their umbilical cord between.

If separates includes tuners, then I'd add the TU-9900 to the list.

Have to agree on the CA-3000/BA-5000 combo, but I also like the performance and looks of the CA-2000.

As for integrated amps, I'm surprised that the AU-20000 did not get a mention thus far.

G9000, B/C2302, AU-9500, CA3000, BA5000, AUX1, for me.

I didn't include au-x1 in my preference list cause it's a almost japan domestic model. Really hard to find one in pristine order to rebuild. But hell yeah I would go for it.
Now ca 3000 has to go with power amp like ba 3000 or ba 5000.
2302's are basically 2301's with some minor improvements . Their sound is identical. If you have the money and find a good pair of either 2301's or 2302's go for it. On the other hand the ba 3000 along with a ca 3000 offers a more relaxed , laid back sound. You can't go wrong with either pair , it's a matter of personal taste. Not to mention the speakers that are going to be used with the set. Generally speaking , top notch performance is achieved by 2301's 2302's , and then by ba3-5k-ca3k . AU-X1 also plays excellently if you want to play in the integrated field.
On the receivers side of the game g9000's sound is not close to g33k or g22k. It's not the same preamp or tuner with a different power amp. It's totally different machine.
G9000'S sound compared to g22k or g33k is more robust , like playing with the loudness contour engaged all the time. g22k's-g33k's sound is more refined , neutral , with nuances popping out . G22K'S G33K'S are serious machines with fine sound , many times , thought wrong as mucho receivers cause of their huge dimensions. Oh and BTW G22, G33 are the only SANSUI's with two completely separate psu's including two separate power transformers. All others are using separate windings for left and right channels but the same core of the transformer. Sure there are some drawbacks in these two monsters but nothing to serious.

Sansui made some damned good sounding valve (Tube for us renegade colonials!) gear. I tend to like the lower power units, so my choices would be any of the 2000 series for S.S. Both of the 8's, and the 1000A, as it was SANSUI's FLAGSHIP Tube Receiver from 1964 to 1971 or 72 from what I've been able to gather.

Yes yes 1000A is on my want list.... Anyone got one they're wanting to sell [emoji10] ??

For me... it would be the: AU-111 'Vintage' or the AU-111G.

With a minty pair of SP-L700 spkrs.

Looks like the AU-111 and the AU-X1 are very popular for good reason. I must admit that they offer a great package for there size.

I've mod the first post regarding valves so you can list your favorite Sansui valve amps if ya's want.

My favorites

The amp called "The king of Integrated Amps" AU-X1111 Mos Vintage is my choice but soundwise together with a perfect pre-amp it would probably be BA-303 which has KT88 as power tubes
