I don't normally post threads like these, but this guy really likes his SL-D500:link here
I think he actually belives that it is worth what he is asking.
In case that link goes dead for whatever reason, here's the full text of the post:
I've seen Linns, Regas, Empires, AR's and nearly every other Technics ask for less on Chicago CL.

TURNTABLE also plays album stack - $1200 (Chicago)
BRAND NEW, in original unopened factory-sealed box. SL-D500
This is the only Turntable I know of, Direct Drive with heavy Platter, NOT a flimsy Record Changer, that also can automatically and carefully play a stack of record albums!!!
This is also probably the only BRAND NEW SL-D500 Turntable in existence today from an inventory of my past audio business. Do you know of any other turntable which was uniquely designed to accommodate a stack of record albums in addition to just playing one at a time? Leave it to Technics to had come up with such a product! And please keep in mind that I find because the outer edge of record albums are slightly raised, the grooves of record albums laying on top of each other don't touch.
For a music lover and/or collector who is able to afford $1,200, and wants to play continuous music with a stack of record albums, this asking price is a bargain while I still have it. Cartridge with stylus $45.
It has a professional tone arm with Counter Weight, Viscous Damping, and Anti Skating Adjustment. Fine tuning Speed Control. Transparent Cover. What more can I say. It's a pleasure to look at and play. My personal stereo system has this same SL-D500.
If interested, please respond with your name and phone number.
Thank you.
