At last!

After 6 years i scored a SM-6 in very near mint condition.

This time the price stayed resonable.
Before the item shoot over 700,- USD and that's too much!

When the unit arived i have gone through it inside and out and no prev. repairs were made.

Dc-offset values were 1 mV on both channels.

She looks great! Congratulations on getting her.
After you've had a chance to listen, tell us your thoughts on her.

Looks great, isn't anything though until you actually see those big meters bouncing in person. Wish my SM-7 had the little cover for the controls, I'll be combing ebay until hopefully someday I find one.

Yes!! - That amp has the classic AMP-look!!!! Congratutalions!!
We have a saying in Denmark (Maybe other countries too): "All good things comes to him who can wait". I benefitted from that a couple of times too. Tell us how it sounds compared to...say...older Marantzes like the 15..or 250M - please!

Regards
From Freddy

Here we go;

The big difference are the mid's and they sound a bit strange in my ears.

Little more forward compared to a 170DC.

Image is very wide and detailed but those mid's are weird.

You will hear it pretty soon Freddy

I think the pre SC-6 is realy great, but the SM-6 :scratch2:

I wil recap it soon

So, in your opinion the SM-6 sounds better then the SM-1000?!

Can you describe the differences??

I think it is after a full week slightly better sounding then the 170DC.

Bench tested at 2 x 150 Watt rms @ 8 Ohm's.

I am very happy with the SM-6!

Hi Guys, I too have just bought an SM-6 but it does come with a couple of ageing problems! It has been partially serviced and tested and the report says that it is getting hot and a clicking can be heard:worried:
I have no doubt that this can be sorted though:yes:
Hopefully I can get it looking and sounding as good as yours SB:music:
I was sooooooooo close to getting the SC-6 aswell but was outbid at the last second:mad::boxing::twak:
Not sure how long it will take to find one but I can live in hope.
Who was it said on here "Good things come to those who wait"??

Unfortunately someone dropped it in transit and it was quite badly damaged when I received it:tears: Sent it back and got a full refund:thmbsp:
