ELAC Miracord 46 question for JDaniel

3-LockBox

Stellar
I remeber a few years back you mentioned having a ELAC Miracord 46 turntable and I was wondering if you had done any upgrades or tweaks worth mentioning. I have one (the Realistic version anyway) and its in need of a stylus, but the tonearm on this is a real hunk o' crap. I always wanted to upgrade the tonearm.

Do you have a good source for parts?

PS (ot) Did you see that Cal game?

Todd,

Mine too is the Realistic model. And it still works flawlessly after all these years (except for the auto return, which one time I didn't realize and mistakenly left my stylus turning for days, burning a new stylus to the nub - DOH!).

The only thing I've done to mine is replace the stylus a couple of times. In my best Sgt. Schultz voice, I Know Nuthing about replacing the arm on one. I ordered a replacement Shure stylus from Garage-A-Records. I still like this TT. I have it right beside me here at the computer. It's the one I use to transfer LPs to CDs on my computer.

You can probably post your tonearm question up in the TT section, and get more help.

I also have a Music Hall I use in my HT room, and a Dual sitting in storage.

Good to hear from you. Ready for SEC football?
