IMHO, one of the more impressive aspects of my 7910 is the rear panel - its made like a black anodized version of most reciever's front panels - no stamped steel here! Unfortunately, its practically impossible to capture in a photo...

Wow you know I thought about the rear panel being different , but it did not dawn on me until you posted your pictures and comments

Thanks :thmbsp:

That's one of the nicest looking receivers ever (IMHO of course). Sherwood, back in the 70s, made some very classy and elegant pieces. I'm always on the lookout for a 7910 or others in that line-up. :D

Definitely agree with Urizen . . Sherwoods are awesome! Got a little stack of my own topped off with an S-9910! That pretty S-7710 looks nearly identical except for a few buttons.

Great looking unit! How is it singing???

Hi Raphael , She singing fantastic ! Its the best sounding receiver I have ever
owned  Although in reality that list is not very long :D Even after all these years of going to Audio Stores in the 70's and 80's , I have still to this day
never heard a Marantz of any sort .

Well . . I have to admit that the 9910 outclasses all of my Marantz' except for aesthetics. I have the 2265B, the 2245, and the 2238B and although they all look better--none can compete in the sweet sounding strength that is the S-9910.

I do like my Marantz' but they tend to be more 'in your face' whereas the Sherwoods have a relaxed, play all day sound, that sparks your attention 100 times a day with thoughts of how fantastic and dynamic they are (particularly that S-9910).

sherwood s-7910 specs?

I have yet to find any specs for this unit.
The XX10 series doesn't sync with the XX00 series anywhere that I can see.
Any insights?
thanks

Nice looking unit. I've like Sherwoods starting with their tube units and al currently running a S3300 SS tuner and S9500c integrated amp. My son replaced his Sony STR6055 that needs some tlc with my 7650 and I have a SEL-200 receiver in the needs some TLC pile. It is near the top and scheduled to get redone this summer. The company seems not to have compromised the design quality as much as most of the other American companies that moved manufacturing offshore.

A very well built Receiver , and the only one that matches my Marantz 2252 for
sound quality . (However that is my own opinion ). 60 to 65 watts per channel on the S7910 the S9910 is 100 watts per channel .

What a good looking receiver! There is something very reserved in that low tone design.

Did Sherwood engrave he lettering on that (like the Kenwoods?)? Can't really tell from the pics (you must take some more closer pics and post them).:thmbsp:

I know this is late but just picked up a Sherwood 7910 and thought I'd add some pics. Mine does have Sherwood engraved into it; I tried to capture that in one of the photos.
