Hello all ... along with a pair of large advents that are being given to me for free ( woofers need refoam ) i also have a chance to pick up a pair of sansui sp2000 tonight .
can anyone tell me what fair market price is on them if condition on them is good to VG . my concern is not in there value as much as i just dont want to overpay for them .....i thought i heard him say we was asking 100.00 for the pair of sansui's . i did a quick epay search and came up with one prior sale for like $61.00 .

any and all comments welcome .

ditto, sound quality isn't that great. They roll off at about 80 hz. I wouldn't say more than 50 bucks either. Advents will kick their ass hands down.
 
I have a nice looking pair of SP-2000s. I am very disappointed in the sound quality, or lack thereof. I did rebuild the crossovers per the information contained in several posts and threads. That definitely did help to tame the God awful booming muddy bass that they are known for. They still don't sound what I would consider to be good. They are not keepers in my opinion and will be finding a new home as soon as I get to it. I paid $75 for the pair, if I remember correctly, and they came with the original boxes. That is a good thing because I think that I will be needing those boxes soon. I think that I have about $30 to $40 in caps for the crossover rebuild. I hope that helps in your negotiations tonight.
 
thank's you guys , i am very famular with the advent speaker ...i know very little about sansui's . i do like there lattus grills and look but not enough to justify paying what he is asking for them ..no sense even trying to talk him down on them . after all the advent are fer FREE !

ULTRA -Hog it was your post/ review in a thread that got me to thinking if i should even waist my time and money on a 2nd set of speakers that i really dont need or have the room for , but when the large advent were offered up for free , it was to hard to pass on them . the woofers will need to be re-foamed but i figure it will make a nice winter weekend project , unless i can find an orphan or some one willing to part out a non working pair of advents.

Some people like the Sansui SP2000s, some don't. My guess is that it would have a lot to do with the type of music and the volume. For my taste, I don't like them. I do suspect that if you like Jazz, soft rock, classical and similar music that you will like the Advents a lot more.
