Sansui SR-717 Turntable Question

Good evening

I have been looking at a Sansui SR-717 turntable. I have not been able to find out much about them, so I thought I would ask you all a couple of questions.

First, do the Sansui turntable model number have anything at all to do with the amp or tuner model numbers. I have an AU 717 and TU 717, and I was wondering if the turntable number being the same was planned or coincidence.

Second, as a turntable, is the SR-717 any good?

Third. Is the SR-717 prone to any particular kind of problem(s)?

Thanks for taking time to reply.

SR-717 is 1970 according to the Sansui DB. That is much earlier than the 77-80 years of the Amp and tuner, so I'd say coincidence.

Never saw one so can't answer ther other questions.

Thanks

Thanks guys

the info does help. Since the turntable is not part of a "set" matching my amp, I am less interested, although the TT looks good in the sales brochure.

The black SR-636 and SR-838 would compliment very nicely the AU/TU -717s. The SR-737 (7090) is gray metallic will look pretty nice too. And they sound very good!
