The Cowbell

befuddled
I was just playing Bridge of Sighs and had forgotten the cowbell in Lady Love. When discussing cowbell bands I wouldn't think Robin Trower would be brought up but it works very well in that song.

What are some of your favorite cowbell songs?

The be all-end all of cowbell songs must be "Honkey Tonk Women"!!
Oh yeah, and, We're An American Band, too!

"Live Wire" from Motley Crue's 1st album. Everything about that band was excessive, including the cowbell!

Also, " We're an American Band" Grand Funk RR... they cowbelled it up a bit...honorable mention anyhow

Badfinger "Perfection" off their album Straight Up. Found the album today, in pretty nice condition, and listened to it as soon as I got home. Man, I like those guys!

Revolver/Taxman

I happened to be paying attention to Taxman after cleaning a UK Mono (Parlophone PMC 7009) copy of the album. I noticed - maybe for the first time - that on the mono version the cowbell first comes in during the second verse. This is different from the stereo release, on which the cowbell doesn't start up till approximately mid-way through the second chorus.

some of the music from the 'Brick' soundtrack features the titular instrument, most notably 'Emily's Theme'.
I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend movie AND music.
