Hi,

Picked up a set of these in a package deal from the original owner (Technics SR400 Receiver, RS-273US Tape deck and these). They are a simliar size to my Minimus 7's.... just a tad larger (and a fair bit heavier, around 3.5 kg each!!) Tried them out last night and I am very imressed, To my untrained ear I reckon they are somewhat better than the Minimus 7's.

Some info I received with them

And the original purchase receipt from 1978

If anyone is interested I can post up some pics of the actual speakers.

Cheers

After hearing these exact speakers today, my untrained ears are telling me exactly the same. They are far smoother in their response and go a tad lower. VERY impressive speakers!

Please can you post some more pictures of actual speakers? I've seen different color version for German market in catalogue. Someone any info?

Pioneer CS-X3 bookshelf speakers: fantastic

I just picked up a pair of these at a thrift store for $20 CDN. On inspection they look good. I have yet to listen to them, and will post pictures. I realize this is an old thread. Nice to see the manual on here.

Edit: I'm listening to Oliver Schroer's Camino on them right now. They sound fantastic. I've got them mounted a bit higher on shelves now, but thinking I might mount them as ceiling speakers, with my Cerwin-Vegas on the floor. I think they would make great ceiling speakers. Marantz 2250 amp. Loving life. :music:

I just took some images, for the person who was curious about what they looked like. They're a kind of greenish dark grey colour. The paint is scratched a bit at the bottom of one side, and I actually think the cabinet is solid aluminum, which would make sense for the weight of these puppies.
