The wife and I just finished binging the first season (I’m confident there will be more).

I’m interested in other opinions about this new show, which is much more than a comedy.

I don’t wanna ruin it for anyone who plans on watching but hasn’t yet, so I’m keeping quiet for awhile.

And yes, this is one of those shows you have to watch past the first couple of episodes for it to find it’s footing.

Watched the first episode, so far so good.
Interesting to us because we are near Rockford IL home of The Peaches.

I haven't seen it, but not because I'm avoiding it. If it seems worth a watch I'll give it a go though.

It’s very different from the movie, though it does throw out a few nods here and there to it. It’s more about the people themselves than the game or the league. Very strong gay and black themes to the story.

if you’re sensitive to overuse of strong language, I’d suggest looking past that if you can until you get past about the 3rd episode, when the language seems to level off a lot.

Overall, it’s really well done, with great writing, acting, cinematography, music, though Tina Turner was a child when this takes place. It’s gonna garner lots of Emmy nods, I think.
