CNN: Men see bikini-clad women as objects, psychologists say

I can see that I'd be pissing in the wind if I defended this for what it is, a brain function study. So I won't.

The ladies certainly do activate my "must grasp object and do things to/with it" center.

Well, perhaps a different stimulus would have been a better choice, or a least subject to less ridicule???:scratch2:

At least I now have the citations I need to back up my persuasive essay to the gf. :thmbsp: ;)

Bikini-clad women as objects.....PLEASE! Who needs the bikini?
Wait...are we talking about women or objects...hold on..... Did someone say bikini?

Sport Illustrated discovered this a long time ago. The bikini issue is always the best selling issue of the year.

New research shows that, in men, the brain areas
associated with handling tools
and the intention to perform actions light up when viewing images of women in bikinis.

They said.... "handling tools" uhhuhuhuhuhuh

Notice that the researchers said they didn't think the same effect would happen if men were shown pictures of their wives or girlfriends in bikinis! :D Maybe because they have already been handled? :smoke:

Hell they don't have to be bikini-clad, all women (well, many anyway) are objects of desire. Would that they looked at us that way.

I've always wanted to buy one of those bikini women. I think one of those creatures would make a great doorstop, or answering machine. Most of them look pretty nice... Though I hear they aren't built very well these days. Around the 40 year mark, they start falling apart... :P
