I happen to have three copies of Blonde on Blonde on vinyl - two in stereo and one in mono - all three in NM condition.

Today I was listening to Sad Eyed Lady of the Lowlands (which takes up all of side 2) - my first listen I was bothered a little by what I believe is a snare drum - I actually couldn't tell and thought I might have a defect in my vinyl. So out came copy number two - exact same thing ... hmmmmm.

Third copy (the mono one) and wow what a difference - clean clear drum roll - real nice sound - clearly superior to either stereo versions.

Anybody else have any experience with this track?

Hmm... no. Like you, I have a couple stereo copies and a mono copy. Unlike you, I haven't the time or the patience to sit through that song even once!

I hear a full drum kit, very clearly recorded, on my stock mid-70s copy. He is playing softly, but it is quite distinct.

My system: Dynavector DV-20X, Graham 2.2, Basis 2001, Herron tubed Phono and Line stages, Pass Aleph 5 amp, Mirage M3si speakers.
