Got a great deal on a 9090 and took it in to my local repair shop to go over and put new bulbs in. He called several days later and said selector switch is iffy and suggested switching a wire so that dail stays on when unit is on as the selector switch was a common problem.
I have another 9090 that I have owned since new in 75-76 era...and have never had a problem. Sooooo...I came here to AK to look for any solutions this....and there it was under stickys...so I saw the fix was the same as he suggested.
Had him do the change...and damn...I like the dial being on all the time. Thanks having this info available for the less informed here. It was a big help to know it wasn't some hack repair and comforting to see it is a common problem with these 9090's. Hell...I may even have him change my original one!
