Hi everyone, welcome to our newly revamped forum for Guitars, Amps, and other musical instruments!

How we got here;

In an Administrative discussion it was rightly decided that musical instruments really aren't an "Off Topic" subject, since we all do listen to music on our HiFi equipment, so this subforum was moved out of the off topic area to where we are now, in the audio discussions area. While the move was being contemplated it was noticed that by far the greatest majority of the threads here are about Guitars and Guitar Amplifiers, so it was decided to give them top billing in the forum title. While it is likely that the greatest majority of the threads will continue to follow the existing trend of being about Guitars & Amps, our members are encouraged to open threads on any musical instrument they have an interest in discussing, from accordions to xylophones, meaning that musical instrument discussions from "A to Z" are absolutely welcome here. As to the guitars, are you playing, building, tuning, or otherwise looking for info? This is the place. Likewise if your restoring, building, rebuilding, or otherwise looking to talk guitar amps? Of course please feel free. The only "special rules" here are to keep it to musical instruments and to keep it friendly in accordance with the existing AK ruleset.

Thank You all for participating and I hope you all enjoy this new area :cool:

As most are posting about guitars and Amps I thought you might like a peek at my studio PA system. In the right rack there is a Soundcraft Spirit FX16 channel mixer. Below that is the Maudio M Track 8 dac. Then comes the Tascam 322 dual Cassette Recorder, then the Fostex Compressor/Limiter. Below that are 2 Berhinger units. First a Frredback destroyer (not Used) and then the stereo equalizer with Feedback destroyer. In the bottom of the rack is the power conditioner and a Fostex Laboratory Series 600 Two-Channel Power Amplifier.
Power output: 200 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo), 600 watts into 8Ω (mono)
Frequency response: 10Hz to 70kHz
Total harmonic distortion: 0.02%
Damping factor: 150
Input sensitivity: 0.8V
Signal to noise ratio: 103dB
Speaker load impedance: 4Ω (minimum)
Semiconductors: 75 x transistors, 60 x diodes, 1 x IC

The other rack has my Otari 5050bii R2R.

Nice, that is the one piece I'm missing in my home studio/office/jam room... but I don't sing, so it wasn't high on the list.
