Looking for source of well made, low-cost power cords

I feel that these shortened cables are the bees knees! I added an IEC plug to the Yamaha tuner so I could use user-short ICs to all components. (I left the C2-x preamp cable original and rolled it up-not smart to modify)
Same with the ICs, but there are several in-line attenuators there as well or it would look even neater. When I see the back of some rigs, I wonder at the rat's nest of cables!

I found my old standby in the Volex catalog. Their model "17604 10 B1" This is a 2M 14/3 Beldfoil-shielded power cord, selling for $7.92 from Allied. I have 3 of them, purchased 15+ years ago. These are the very ones I used in multiple comparisons to some pretty expensive power cords in some pretty expensive sound systems. Perhaps I should pick up a few more, cut them down to a more manageable size and attach new sockets. But they are a bit stiff.

Thanks

Can get what you need at Parts Express -- Guess one could use 12 gauge not sure if 10ga fits those plug ends

Correct. 10 gauge is really tight -- too tight for some connectors. Pretty sure Marinco connectors will accept up to 12 gauge, Wattgate, more or less, depending on item. I think there's a little snake oil built into some of the more expensive Wattgate connectors (personal view). But hey, if you got it, spend it. Marinco's cheaper.

I mostly use 14ga./15A IEC power cables from Hosa,Tripp Lite,or Middle Atlantic (their "signal safe" cables) in whatever lengths needed/available.
I'm mostly concerned with using the correct lengths to avoid coiling "too long" cables,I'm not remotely concerned about the cables appearance.
So yeah I tend to avoid std. 6' & > cables as SOP unless absolutely necessary.

Anyhow I wound up buying a bunch of 1' (MA/SS) 1.5' (Hosa) 2' (TrippLite) & 3' (Hosa) long 14ga./15A cables for my rack rig gear that uses IEC cables.

All were < $10 per cable and IMO more than adequate, aesthetics be d@mned LOL.

I picked up some connectors locally and I'm going to cut one of my long cords in half, to make two cords out of it. Should be fun.

Oh, and found Tripp Lite 14/3 3' cords for $6. Good tip.

Go used, of course. Should be at 40 cents on the dollar range.

Shunyata has some bargains and pretty good bang for the buck. But still, it does go back upstream and the associated equipment/room size. Even further back with dedicated lines/outlet boxes/etc.

One of my tricks was to always pay attention to what the amplifier guys I like--for me it was Krell and Audio Research---what were those guys using when they were doing shows through the years? If you could run that down, that insight is pretty important and those manufacturers are definately very picky about associated equipment connected to their's at the trade shows.

+1 on using power cables with a telescoping shield. And like the cables pictured in Frank Sol's post, I use a combination of ferrites to keep all the RF junk that seems to be everywhere these days. Wireless this, wireless that, and those little switching wall warts generate hash all over the place. But, no, these cables have no aesthetics.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I am still pondering some of them. In the meantime, I followed some leads and found a supplier, Full Compass, which is only 5 miles from my house, which stocks Tripp Lite 14/3 2' power cords for $4.85 each. Picked up a few.
