Vintage futurist
Anyone ever heard of a "sumgai"? Here's an example:
You walk into an antique shop and they happen to have an electronics section. You inquire with the shop clerk if they ever have any vintage speakers. And here's what they tell you "Speakers? Yes, sometimes we get some in. In fact, we just sold a two sets today to some guy ("sumgai"). We had one set of rather peculiar looking speakers, a little worn on the outside but we tested them with a receiver and they sounded great. They were McIntosh XRT-18's. The other set were McIntosh XD-717's. The 717's had one middle cone with some minor distortion but otherwise were in great shape".
What? You JUST sold them? If you don't mind my asking, for how much? :worried:
"$300 for both sets."
That just happened to me on CraigsList. Nice deal about 1 hour from where I live. Seller wrote back to me "Sorry, we already sold them to some guy."
:tears:
:sadwave:
I'd have gladly paid $500!!
