I have found the holy grail of Russian Germanium transistors; SOVCOM. The Russian P416A transistor works just as well as the original Zenith branded Amperex transistors used in the Royal 1000's RF section, and work just as well in the AM/SW bands section on the 3000. I am told they cause minimal dial displacement which is easy to tweak back into place with alignment. The FM side is a different story as there really is no good replacements for the originals but for some reason they don't seem to fail as often. I just purchased 26 of the P416A Transistors for $7.16 plus $8.00 postage SOVCOM in located in the Ukraine. SOVCOM has a 99.9% customer rating on eBay, and is well thought of over on the Antique Radio Forums.

I ordered some Ge signal transistors (2SA101) from them for a Sansui 3000A which I had for repair back in April 2013. I found other devices which I was able to adapt into the AM detector/amp circuits and get the unit repaired and out of here.

I'm still waiting for the transistors.

As an update, I am still waiting for the Ge trannies. I guess the Ukranians and Russians have been preoccupied with other things for the past decade or so.
