Hello, I have a VPI Prime with a JMW Memorial 3d tonearm. I am trying to find out which one I have. Is there any identifying marks or model numbers anywhere on the arm?

Does it have the moulded arm lift on the headshell? That would be an identifying characteristic. I believe thats the original version that did come on that early Prime model.

Did you get the VPI protractor for that table and arm? In my opinion, that protractor is superb and a work of true genius. I wouldn’t bother with any other protractor on my Prime.

I bought the table used. It had the molded arm lift on the headshell. But after I had the table for about a month, it snapped off. A clean break right at the edge of the headshell. Upon further investigation, it had already been glued back on. So I smoothed it up lightly with a dremmel and just added the metal finger lift from the vpi store. It did not come with the protractor.. So when I sent vpi a picture, they said that it was the 12 inch tonearm. So I bought the protractor for the 12 inch one. But now, measuring it, it looks like the 10.5 inch tonearm. So now I have to buy the correct protractor. Which is why I was hoping for any id numbers or markings on the tonearm.
