A Little Fisher Tweaking Today

Hi all,

I been telling a few people on here that I been having a issue with my
Fisher KX200 amp in it being a bit Fat (bassy) on the bottom, so I did a
little changing I removed the four Orange drops caps from the tone circuit
and put in four .047uf IC caps and so far the bass is tighter less of the
boom I been hearing, could it been the Orange Drops:bash: all along or
wishful thinking?

Which series of the caps did you use? I know with the Illinois coupling caps I went from polyethylene to polypropylene and found a definite improvement (to me at any rate). If the ODs were PE and you switched to PP, I can see where you might find a difference. Can't say for sure if the ODs were PP.

There the IC MPW, I think there PP type.

As you can hear, coupling capacitors make a difference.

I think with the ODs, 715P is PE and 716P is PP.
