I am a big fan of Pandora, I use the free version. I was surprised at the difference betwee playing between sources. My Sony smart BD player sounds great, my Roku sounds fair, and my PC sounds fair.
I have about 30 or so channels, mostly mid 20th century stuff, some late, very little from this century. The discovery and deep tracks often brings up somethin I have never heard, real hidden gems. That is what I am looking for, music I have yet to discover. I am not interested in listening to Abbey Road, as I am very familiar with it, I would rater hear a good recording of Ella Fitsgerald or Charles Mingus live, something I would never have discovered without Pandora.
Though lossy, through a good version of the app, sounds good to me on my system.
