Some Questions about Cameras from Someone Not in the Hobby

Thanks again Mark,

1. Voigtlander model is a Vitessa. The writing around the lens says Voigtlander Ultron 1:2 / 50. There is writing on the chrome(?) bezel that says "Compar-Rapid". Looks like this

http://home.wtnet.de/~ddrescher/voigtlaender/index.htm and here

2. Balsey Model B2. Lens is marked Anastigmat Wollensak 44mmf/3.2. There is also written on the lens bezel "Bolsey Synchro Matic, Wollensak-Rochester, NY". On a seperate case is a Bolsey filter kit. Looks like this

3. Zeiss Ikon. Written around the lens is Novar-Anastigmat 1:4.5 f=11 cm. Nothing else on it. It looks like a Ercona found here

OK I would need a photo of the camera your talking about to ID it the references you show are two completely different model of Vitessa.

In lue of that a couple questions

Does it have Barn Doors on either side of the lens?

Does it have about a 1" long plunger sticking up out of the top of it?

Does the camera use 35mm film or 126?

The Zeiss in the page linked to is a Ikonta Zeiss did not have a model called the Eronca unless that is a spelling in another language then German.

I need with this camera the numbers embossed into the leather on the back to ID it.

The Bosley if in EXCELLENT condition it can bring $20-30.00

The Vitessa has barn doors and the 1" plunger. The second German language site does have the picture, you have to go into the "Das Cameras" section and it's in there. It identifies it as a "Vitessa 1953". The text is in German so that's all I know.

The Zeiss link takes me to the Ercona model. I typoed the name. The numbers in the leather are 1798/2. Here is another site with a picture and some information. The Ercona is the last camera shown. Sorry about the typo. http://www.thecamerasite.net/03_Folder_Cameras/Pages/zeisercona.htm

OK that clears it up this camera is a Pentacon Ercona (I) Early model c1947-56 Made by the part of Zeiss Ikon left in what would become East Germany after WWII while the majority of the personnel went west.

Book value is $30-50.00

Your Vitessa (125) can be a 1950 or 1952 if the rear door is removable it's the 1952 if not then the earlier 1950. Value $200-300.00 (the later ones have a different shutter)

I messed around with the Vitessa. There is no rear door. To remove the film, you remove the bottom of the camera. I guess that makes it one of the earlier ones.

I think we got it covered. And I strongly suggest that you sell everything individually on eBay.

I've been talking with the people putting on the estate sale. They want it gone quick and said sell it as a lot. Since I don't want exposure if an E-Bay sell goes sour, I guess I'll have to put it Craigs list. Unforunately the closest one that I can expect some interest is 200 miles away. I've had some success in selling electronics as a lot on it, don't know if it will work for cameras.

Mark, once again thank you very much for your help.
