my tube tester is a Precision 910, and I have I have tube chart supplements issued up through the mid 1960s. However, I cannot find any settings to test 7591as. Does anyone know if this is possible with Precision 910 tester ?

thanks - Jim

I found this on a other post.

I expect the 6L6 settings would do, if you reassigned pins 4,5,6 and 8 to match the 7591 pinout. Whatever the roll chart says to do with lever 5 (control grid for a 6L6), you do with lever 6 (control grid for a 7591) and so on.

I have a Precision 54-10. Not sure if it has the same levers as yours. My 3-61 addendum shows:

tube a b c d e w x y z fil cont
7591 1 2 16 10 7 4 8 3 6 2-7
7591-must show short on 4-8
7591-screen short test-depress 4-8 together
alignment not right on email.......a=1,b=2,c=16,d=10,e=7,w=4,x=8,y=3,z=6
No info on 7591A

hope that helps.

Thanks everyone for your responses. I have posted the question in ARF, as suggested.

Glenbo - your tester is different enough from mine that I can't translate settings from your tester to mine - thanks very much for checking, though.

Don't know anything about your tube tester but be aware that many testers are best suited for small tubes.
Power tubes may be on the provided chart but one may get misleading readings.
Also the tester has to be calibrated in general.
Anybody at your local radio club have a Amplitrex at1000?
That was my resource for when I needed to test a dozen plus 7591 tubes.
Boy was my calibrated b&k747 way off!
