  • Hello Brass Teacher: Trying in vain to find 'upgrade 3020' thread. Looked at other audio sights as well. I have a 7225pe that started to smoke on one channel when speaker wires touched. Ordering replacement parts to fix but would like to upgrade some and if possible remove the PE. First NAD repair. Lots of yamaha CR/CA 70's stuff though.
    Sincerely,
    Doug
Wondering if you could help me out. I have a Moscode 600 that I replaced some tubes and caps in. Now I need to readjust the HV and maybe the bias pots. Have no idea as to what voltage or where to test. Any help would be appreciated. You can email me direct if you like. bhur45@verizon.net
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Hi BT,
Thank you for your reply to my dilemma. Before I go and change the belts can you tell by what I described in my post, is what causes the slow down and eventually stopping of the tape drive. . Until the set cools off. I guess what I am asking you, do the belts cause this to happen and is it caused from the machine heating up ???
There is one other question I have for you, the cluster of wires 6 or 7 altogether as a multi colored harness that carries the sound and the digital VU readout when recording or playback. they came loose from the black plastic. So my question is this . How are they attached to that black holder, are the soldered in or locked in some how? I ask this, because at first I thought that the black plastic piece plugged into the circuit board until I looked at the bottom and saw it was soldered in. But the wires came out of the black plastic that houses the 6 or 7 wires. How do they attach to the plastic piece ?? Any info would be great.
