  • Thanks for the quick answer...I look forward to your findings!...I'll keep cleaning and see if that brings any results...Happy Holidays!
the 9191/1000 ff/rew clutch fix is a work-in-progress, and the decks to pull the clutches from for experimentation are enclosed by stacks of gear. Somebody may eventually send me a busted clutch on the swing arm from a parts deck - then with it setting around loose instead of a day or two investment to dig out the decks and remove a clutch - I could take stabs at it as opportunities presented themselves.
I was in search of a P-mount cart for my newly (to me) Sony TT...I started my search at Sound Ideas..when they realized they didn't carry P-mount, they sent me to Ted. Ted was a great help...I've bought vinyl from him just recently. Picked up an obscure Grand Funk album called "Good Singing Good Playing", produced by Frank Zappa...and then I found some Maynard Ferguson and Mike Oldfield I'd been looking for. It's like going back, and retrieving some of my past. A treasure was being able to find Mangione's "Main Squeeze" and "Bellavia"...neither of which are on cd.
For now my equipment is cheap, but functional...and a hell of a lot of fun.
I'm a vintage Infinity fan...the speakers in my avatar are in my primary and bedroom systems, and I have 2 additional pairs in the house and another one on the way. Both the main and bedroom systems are powered by Forte amps. The main system has a Forte pre-amp, and the bedroom rig uses an Adcom. I listen to mostly vinyl, but also use CD when it's more convenient. Music leans heavily towards jazz, with big doses of classical and classic rock thrown in for good measure.

I hear ya about Sharpe's Music. Ted is a good friend of mine, and I hang out at his shop whenever I can. I've bought tons of vinyl and several pieces of gear from him. I'm also good friends with the guys at Sound Ideas in G-ville.
Hi Jack. Welcome back to audio, and welcome to Audiokarma. What are you listening to these days? What's your preferred source? Do you like/collect records? If your ever going to be down Gainesville way, give me a shout and I'll show you around to my local audio haunts.

    Cheers,

    Ted
