Pics of your listening space

OK guys, I'm not proud of the mess but here is my usual hangout after work where I spin a couple of LP's and check the posts and use the chat line. I have 4 PC's hooked up to a KVM in addition to the main unit and do video editing etc here. Did I mention I'm a network engineer? The receiver is a small Harmon Kardon 35 watt per I bought new in the 1070's the last year of the silver face. A couple of Realistic Minimus 5's for the front and (not seen) a pair of TOA reference monitors. Yes that's an old Amiga monitor for video capture monitoring from the VHS VCR, DVD player and and ADS capture device on the left. On the right is the HK of course and a Yamaha YP-450 TT with a Grado Black, a Tascam 122 MKIII cAssette deck and a Berhinger mixer to tie it all together. I have to be real gentle when I spin hte vinyl :music:.

Well, this AKer has a messy mancave office... :D
This is the view from the captain's chair. A Pioneer A-717 Reference Series Amplifier, a Maranzt SD-62 tape deck and a Technics SL-Q200 and a newly-built PC with Windows 7 feed into two large Speakerlabs that are well-hidden in the extreme corners, and a pair of 4-ohm ADS L-500s facing the desk. The single KLH-17 is for another system behind the chair. It might be hard to believe, but it all sounds spectacular:thmbsp:

I dig that circular chair . . . it remind me of a chair I saw in a furniture store in the early seventies but it was egg shaped and had speakers built in it.
You have high ceilings like me. The sound bounces all over with the hard surfaces. But our places certainly look awesome!! Nice set-up :thmbsp:

the phillips, 7800 my tv ps 2 an 2 cerwin vega speaks. the bull nose advents are still in my basment :sigh: as you can see im in the middle of redoin my place

There is a new shop in Elkhart,IN building them now with hi end drivers.

Thanks for the nice compliments, everybody. As you can see, I love everything 70s.

It is a pretty big space for NYC, but you guys should have seen what a disaster it was when we moved into it in the 90s. Yikes.

Here are a couple of pics from the opposite angle. That dent in the couch is where most of the listening (and some napping) takes place. ;)

The other pic is of my desk in the corner. On the bookcase I have some vintage Heco speakers that I picked up on a trip to Germany. I don't know anything about them other than they sound amazing and look pretty cool.

Cactus, unfortunately that round chair doesn't have speakers inside. My wife actually likes the fact that things are little quieter in there. Go figure. And you're right about my ceilings ... I have a brick wall too ... which makes the sound bounce around all over the place. A lot of books on the opposite wall absorbs some of it, but the best way I've come up with to combat it is by putting shelf speakers across the room.

P.M., what does "w.w.s.t" mean?

Shelving system

NICE Loft. How many SF, and what neighborhood are you? I used to live on 12th and Fourth Ave, the ceilings were 12 ft, but the floors were cut up into rooms.
Is that a Rakks wall system?
I love mid century stuff, too.

Is it comfy, Hell yes, but try as many as you can as i found a huge variation between them.

Can you tell who manufactured your Eames chair and do you like the fit?
