Another Super High End Phono Stage! No expense spared...

First, about the PAS preamp. Is that a discrete FET preamp board with an incoming DC? I wasn't aware of it. Can you post a link where I can read about without taking away from this thread? Thanks!

Now, I see a number of possibilities here.

1) stand alone CNC and SS, two chassis

2) a chassis with both boards in it and a selector switch for other inputs

3) combined board for dedicated phono/line stage

All will have supporters. Of course that is what DIY is all about.

Hi Grainger,
Pass B1,
http://www.passdiy.com/pdf/B1 Buffer Preamp.pdf
I am following this thread for BOM:

I had a shootout between my DIY B1 Buffer and the SSP and preferred the SSP. The B1 is very very good but a little on the cold side for me and the soundstage is not as wide and deep as the SSP. Or maybe I just like the sound of the AD823 in the SSP. YMMV.

Nelson Pass is an out and out genius.

Count me in for a CNC and SP board (separate or combined, either way works for me). If the B1 and Lightspeed boards are being made as well, I'd take one of each as well!

I may even want multiples to gift out to some relatives and friends.

+2, Yes me too - either 2 boards or combined....

Cheers,
Bob

Both plans are here.

So this is latest update:

Ground planes are moved away from TT input and labels are corrected.

What I am suggesting is -
Plan 1 (from me)

CNC separate board + Simple preamp like these two separate boards.

People who already have CNC can opt for only Simple preamp
Or they can opt for both of the boards. This offers flexibility and no additional cost.

Plan 2 (ghazzer suggested)

As ghazzer suggested both combined, its here. Cost is nearly same of above 2 boards. [But I myself is not going for this option as I have different plan for preamp.]

Diagram is here CNC-phono-pre-sp-brd.png (4" X 3")

Please give your choice here so that we can make list.

Om, really nice looking boards.
I think you can place the decoupling caps as pairs of
one 10uf cap and one 0.1uf on either end
of the chip, with the film/ceramic cap closer to the pins. Like so...

Hi thanks,

BTW, I did not understand it correctly.
Do you mean to say that ceramic/film caps closer to pins of chip? and electrolytes caps of 10uF on power rail at one place at power entrance.
- or -
10uF electrolytes closest possible to chip and ceramic/film caps at PS entrance only?

Here's a quick one to show the idea. (It was another opamp
circuit I was working on, which I modified to the CNC
circuit, so this is just to demonstrate what I mean and
may not be error free etc).
