My brother-in-law gave me one of these. It's a solid state integrated amplifier. I can't find hardly any info or opinions about them. Any here?

Interesting -- there is a thread on an AGS reciever that I described as looking like the love child of Marantz and Yamaha, but this one looks like the love child of Marantz and Sherwood.

Planar receivers

Hello:

Planar receivers were produced in Kitchener Ontario Canada by Electrohome. I remember working at the factory in the early 70's when these units were being designed. Electrohome was trying to break into the high end audio market.

I recall speaking to an engineer that was working on very clean amplifier circuits. I believe these unit were very well designed with excellent quality. They were also available as quads.

Again, if memory serves correctly the plug was pulled on the entire project and the receivers that were produced were sold at very reduced prices to employees. Unfortunately I did not have enough cash to buy one.

Some of my high school friends had these units and they rocked.

Hope this sheds a little light on the question.

Transistor position in pre driver stage

Please would you email the 3 transistor ID numbers and their position in the pre driver stage ( 3 small transistors in a row #806-12? #808-12?) (would be temporarily of a great help)
or better and later the schematics??
